Family and parent coaching services

Sometimes being a parent seems harder than we'd like it to be and we know things could be easier, if only we knew how. Our Family Coaches can help.  They listen, and use their training and own parenting experience to help parents with new insights and practical solutions.
Maybe you need help with a particular parenting challenge, your family has fallen into a behavior you don’t like, or you are unhappy parenting the way you do – you love your kids but are not enjoying them as much as you would like. Our coaches listen and offer solutions specific to each problem. In the event, counseling is needed you are at an advantage because each of our coaches is qualified to counsel people.
Below are a few frequently asked questions, hope they will create more insight on the service.
 What happens in a coaching session?
Each session is one hour long. In the first session, the coach will be learning about the family background, the aspirations, goals and challenges for the family. Time is also given to investigating the common parenting style used, to ascertain the direction of the coaching input and what strategies would be most useful.
A plan is given for progress. Some families find that one session is all that is required. However, many families see the effectiveness of a series of sessions that enable them to gain traction and confidence in the style and techniques offered.
Do children attend the sessions?
 The coaching sessions are primarily for parents to attend on their own without children present. This gives the parent an opportunity to discuss the specific challenges about their child or children without the conversation being overheard. It also frees up the parent to focus solely on the issues without the distractions of a child. The coaching rooms are not specifically set up to be 'child friendly' so we ask parents to have their children cared for to maximize the potential of the session.

In some cases, the coach will work with the child and the parent, but this is planned for as a progression of the coaching.

What hours are the family coaches available in the office?
The family coaches are available at the office at various times between Monday-Friday during business hours (8 am to 5 pm). On Saturday, the coaches are available half day till noon.
Are appointments restricted to the office?
No, for the clients who cannot come to the office premises, you can now consult with our Family coaches on Skype and pay the consultation fee via Mpesa. However, the service is restricted to the weekends and involves one hour sessions with the client. The client has to call the offices to make the appointment four days in advance. The clinic’s Skype account is parenting.clinic. Note, there is a full stop between the parenting and clinic.
How much do you charge for the coaching services?
Face to face –Ksh.3000 for a 1 hour appointment

Do you also counsel the parents?
 Yes, the coaching service provides advice specifically for parenting related challenges.  It is more of a mentoring based and counseling based approach and gives you practical parenting ideas and strategies to implement in your home.
Is the coaching confidential?
 All your information, whether written or verbal, will be held in the strictest confidence
